Life never stops asking for your attention.

For most of history, people dreamed of having enough that, for a while, nothing was required of them.

We believe part of your time should still belong only to you.

The rainforest shower. A guest stands under the ceiling rain with her eyes closed, the falling water drawn into long soft threads around her.

OTIUM Time belongs to you.

OTIUM · Roman — time free from obligation

A Bastu house.

A place where time belongs to you, where conversation is worth having, and the rest is complete.

Reception: a marble-topped oak desk and the lit water station, guests in sauna wear, a bouclé sofa in the foreground.
ReceptionWhere the week gets left at the door.
The sauna: the dark steam room with tiered cedar benches, stones on the stove, one small window to a blue evening.
The saunaWhere your breath learns to slow.
The rainforest shower: rain falling from ceiling panels onto rippling stone, cove-lit green mosaic walls and a monstera planter.
The rainforest showerWhere the heat washes off as weather.
The cold tub: clear water in dark stone, warm oak walls and brass sconces, one guest resting in the water.
The cold tubWhere steadiness gets its practice.
The salt room: zero-gravity chairs before a glowing amber salt wall.
The salt roomWhere your body stays warm without effort.
The rest room: reclined chairs under cream linen, the long tea table at the far end.
The rest roomWhere the switch flips, and the evening lands.

A place where your mind finally becomes quiet.

Not another spa. Not another workout. A weekly ritual for people who want to live a full life.

Four players laughing at the net after a pickleball game, palms and low sun behind them.
For those who play
A lifter setting up over a loaded bar in a dark gym while a partner chalks her hands in the window light.
For those who train
Five friends in muted athleisure in easy conversation over tea at the oak table in the warm rest room.
For those who gather
A silver-haired man in sunglasses at the wheel of an open convertible on a palm-lined seafront at golden hour.
For those who do it their own way

  • Deep sleep, all the way to morning.
  • A head with one thought in it.
  • Conversation that goes somewhere.
Reception. The guide stands still behind the marble desk while a guest arriving through the room blurs past her.

No rush here.

From the moment you arrive, there are no decisions left to make. A guide holds the evening — the heat, the cold, the rest, the tea — and hands it to you in the right order. You are walked through all of it; the only thing you manage is nothing.

Rest should be planned.

Your body has two settings, and the useful one is slow to arrive. It waits until it is convinced the effort has genuinely stopped. Convincing it takes time — so we budgeted the time.

Minutes in the heat and minutes winding down: one Bastu session against a typical hot-cold session, on the same scale.

Both rows hold the same 45 minutes of heat. We do not schedule the heat and the cold — those are the easy part. We schedule the rest. You cannot trick a nervous system, and you cannot hurry one: it stands down when it is convinced, or not at all. Growth is a deliberate choice, and it starts with rest you actually made room for.

The session ends. The day doesn’t.

The guided session runs 2½ to 3 hours. You can stay the whole day.

The water room at night: still water lit only from below, the light rippling across the timber ceiling, people talking in the water.
